CLEARFIELD – A letter of resignation from Executive Director Holly Komonczi was accepted by the Clearfield County Recreation and Tourism Authority during a special meeting Tuesday.
In the letter, Komonczi noted that while she was executive director, revenues doubled, the name Visit Clearfield County was branded and other positive things occurred.
However, she indicated that her goals and those of the current CCRTA board are not in line with each other.
The board also passed a balanced budget for 2016-17 with projected revenues and expenditures at $615,900. Bills were also paid.
Mark McCracken, board member and county commissioner, informed the board that county solicitor Kim Kesner told him that the resolution passed at the last meeting needed to be revised.
While the by-laws can be changed to make the board a nine-member board from a 12-member board, the five-year terms cannot be changed due to incorporation laws. The board voted to amend the resolution.
After a 30-minute executive session for legal and personnel matters, the board took no action on personnel, but they did appoint Andy Gates as the attorney for the memorandum of understanding being worked out with the county.
A letter from Starr Hill Winery thanking Visit Clearfield County for their help and support during the Fireball Run event was read to the board members.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for Nov. 9 at 8:30 a.m.
