Obituary Notice: Donna M. Hess

Donna M. Hess, 69, of Hyde died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016 at UPMC Altoona after a lengthy illness.

Born June 4, 1947 in Huntingdon, she was the daughter of Martin and Muriel (Kyler) Hoffer.

She was a homemaker and owned her own cleaning business; she was also a caregiver.  She loved helping others and was always compassionate to those in need.

On May 29, 1981 in Clearfield, she wed Donald F. Hess, who survives of Hyde, along with four children, James Hess and his wife, Jennifer of Virginia, Shane Ebersole and his companion, Tammi Buck of West Decatur, Melinda “Mendy” Barrett and her husband, Tom of Ford City and Jason Ebersole and his companion, Jen Mencer of Hyde.

She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Alicia Hess, Devan Ebersole, Donald F. Hess III, Shawn Ebersole, Jeremy Barrett, Bruce Hess and an expected grandchild; an expected great-grandchild; and a sister, Shirley Smith and her husband, Larry of Goshen.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Donald F. Hess Jr.

A celebration of Life Service will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc., of Curwensville with Pastor Scott Schultz officiating. Burial will be held in the Friends Cemetery in Grampian.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Curwensville Ministerium Fuel Aid, 300 State St., Curwensville, PA 16833.

The Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville is in charge of the arrangements.
