BELLEFONTE — Sophomore running back Ty Bender ran for 109 yards and scored four touchdowns to lead the Clearfield Bison junior varsity football team to a 35-13 win over the Belefonte Red Raiders.
Bellefonte led 7-0 after the opening quarter, but the Bison scored three unanswered touchdowns, one by Ryan Lazauskus and two by Bender, to take a 21-7 lead in to the half.
The hosts closed the gap to 21-13 after returning a third quarter interception for a touchdown, but Bender added two fourth quarter TD runs to ice the game.
Defensively, the Bison had interceptions by Lazauskas and Jude Pallo, and fumble recoveries by Logan Munshower and Allan Myers.
The Bison (5-1) will host the Tyrone Golden Eagles next Monday night at 6:00 pm.
