Hike to the Park Vista

3 p.m. – outside CCC Museum

It’s a little more difficult than other park trails, but the payoff is worth it when you reach the top. Come hike the Trail of New Giants, and then to the Vista, where you can gaze down upon Parker Lake from the highest point in the park. Please wear appropriate footwear.

Frog Stalking

9 p.m. – Pavilion 4

It’s almost bedtime, but only for some.  Come on a frog search as we learn about different species that can be found at the park, along with their various characteristics; including songs, diet, and amazing adaptations.  Frog stalking is fun for the whole family.

Sunday, June 12

Parachutes

1 p.m. – Beach House

One thing is for sure – there will be a parachute.  How much fun is had is up to you!  Bring along your friends and learn more about nature and wildlife with one of the park educators.

Learn Your Trees Walk

3 p.m. – Environmental Education Classroom

White pine or Eastern hemlock; Sugar maple or Red maple?  Can you identify the tree common to Parker Dam?  Come learn some easy identification tips.  Even if you know some of them—you may learn something new and about these trees’ importance to our past.

Tea and Talk

7 p.m. – Beach House steps

Bring your own cup to sample some sweet fern/mountain mint tea grown here in the park.  Talk subjects are always open – come with some idea of what you want to know, learn, or share.  The Sunday evening tea & talk has been going on for many years – come and be a part of the tradition.
