Obituary Notice: Rebecca L. Lee

Rebecca L. Lee, 68, of Curwensville died Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at her residence after a lengthy illness.

Born Sept. 8, 1947 in Clearfield, she was the daughter of George and Donna (Lowther) Shaffer.

Mrs. Lee was a homemaker and a licensed cosmetologist and reflexologist. She had been a part-time hairdresser.

She had also worked for Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clearfield, the former W.T. Grant Department Store in Clearfield and the former Kent’s Sportswear in Curwensville.

She was Methodist and Baptist by faith. She was a member of both the Country Crew Line Dancers and the Kickin’ Country Line Dancers.

She enjoyed doing crafts and attending craft shows. Also, she enjoyed camping with her family, baking, cooking and making the “Best Jellies.”

On Sept. 13, 1969, she wed Dennis E. Lee, who survives, along with two daughters, Tracy M. Lee of Punxsutawney and Jaime L. Lee of Grampian.

Also surviving are two granddaughters, Amanda K. Braunns and her husband, Shannon of DuBois and Hannah A. Lee-Wells of Grampian as well as two sisters, DeAnn E. Shaffer and Kathleen C. Lumadue, both of Curwensville.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, George A. Shaffer.

At the request of Mrs. Lee, there will be no public visitation.

Private funeral services will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville at the convenience of the family with the Rev. James Hurd officiating.

Burial will be in the Mount Zion Cemetery, Bethlehem Mahaffey RD

The family suggests contributions be made to the Hahne Cancer Center, 100 Hospital Ave., DuBois, PA 15801.

The Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville is in charge of the arrangements.
