State police at Clearfield
- State police investigated an incident of DUI that occurred May 28 on Route 322 east of Bennett Road in Bradford Township. Further, a State College man was stopped for traffic violations and allegedly found to be under the influence. Charges are to be filed through the district court, state police said.
- State police received a report about an incident of simple assault that occurred May 29 at the Morann Citizens Club in Gulich Township. During the incident, a Madera man allegedly engaged in a physical confrontation with the victim. Charges will be filed as a result of the incident, state police said.
- State police received a report about an incident of harassment that occurred May 28 at a Mill Street residence in Coalport Borough. During the incident, several Coalport residents engaged in a physical confrontation. Charges will be filed as a result of the incident, state police said.
- State police responded to an accident May 29 on Interstate 80 westbound in Graham Township. Michael L. Babick of Clearfield was traveling in the right-hand lane when a deer entered into the path of his vehicle. His vehicle struck the deer as a result. Babick wasn’t injured in the accident, but his vehicle was towed from the scene.
State police at DuBois
- On May 27 state police received a report about a Brockway man allegedly violating a Protection from Abuse order in Snyder Township. During the investigation, state police attempted to make contact with him; however, he allegedly fled from them in a motor vehicle. He was eventually stopped and taken into custody, and he is currently lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.
- State police reported an incident of public drunkenness that occurred May 25 on Wayne Road in Winslow Township. Further, state police responded for a male who was allegedly highly intoxicated and alongside the roadway. He was cited for the incident through the district court.
State police at Philipsburg
- State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred sometime May 26-27 on West Laurel Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly damaged two window blocks at Philipsburg Electric. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
State police at Ridgway
- State police received a report about an incident of theft by deception that occurred May 23 at Wal-Mart in Fox Township. During the incident, a St. Marys woman allegedly returned merchandise that she hadn’t purchased. Total amount stolen was $10.24, and the incident remains under investigation at this time, state police said.
- State police received a report about an incident of theft by deception that occurred May 18 at Wal-Mart in Fox Township. During the incident, a St. Marys woman allegedly returned merchandise that she hadn’t purchased. Total amount stolen was $90.36, and the incident remains under investigation at this time, state police said.
- State police received a report about an incident of harassment that occurred May 24 at a River Road residence in Jay Township. During the incident, two people allegedly engaged in a physical confrontation in which they struck each other and pulled each other’s hair. Both were charged through the district court, state police said.
- State police received a report about an incident of theft that occurred sometime between May 17 and May 20 at the Royal Drive In in Ridgway Township. During the incident, someone allegedly used a key to unlock a soda vending machine and removed approximately $20; of that, $8 was in one-dollar bills and the remainder was in quarters and dimes. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- State police received a report about an incident of disorderly conduct that occurred May 14 at Wal-Mart in Fox Township. During the incident, a known juvenile allegedly sprayed tire cleaner on the aisles, which created a hazardous condition. Charges were filed through the district court, state police said.
- State police received a report about an incident of identity theft that occurred May 22 in Ridgway Township. Further, someone allegedly used the victim’s identity to open two credit card accounts. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
Clearfield Borough
- Police responded to Reed Street for a report about an intoxicated male who wanted to harm himself. Police made contact with the male and he was then transported to the Clearfield Penn Highlands Hospital for treatment.
- Police assisted Lawrence Township police with a child who was locked inside of a vehicle at Wal-Mart. They were able to unlock the vehicle, and the child was found to be OK, police said.
- Police responded to a disturbance on South Fourth Street. Upon arrival police found that two juveniles were yelling at each other, and it wasn’t anything physical in nature. While police were at the scene, they located a male who had a warrant through Centre County. He was taken into custody and to the Clearfield County Jail.
- Police received a report that a male threw a beer bottle at a residence on East Walnut Street.
- Police responded to a trespass complaint on South Fifth Street. Further, there was a male at the residence who was not welcomed and causing a problem. The male was gone when police arrived but later located.
- Police responded to assist emergency personnel with a medical emergency on South Sixth Street.
- Police received a complaint about the unauthorized use of a vehicle. Further, a person was given permission to use a vehicle but allegedly failed to return it when requested to.
- Police responded to East Eighth Street to assist emergency personnel with an attempted suicide. The individual was found to be coherent and taken to the Clearfield Penn Highlands Hospital for treatment, police said.
- Police witnessed a vehicle traveling close to two motorcycles on Bridge Street and nearly striking one. During a traffic stop, the male driver was allegedly found to be under the influence. He was then arrested for DUI, police said.
- Police received a report that a male had confronted a female and allegedly pushed her, causing her to fall to the ground.
- Police assisted a male with a ride after his vehicle became disabled on Bigler Avenue.
- Police responded to the area of Agway for a suspicious person.
- Police located a male who was allegedly staggering down North Third Street. The male was released to a sober adult and arrested for public drunkenness, police said.
- Police stopped a vehicle for a minor traffic violation and found that the driver was allegedly under the influence. The driver was subsequently arrested for DUI.
- Police stopped a vehicle on East Locust Street for a violation and found that the driver was allegedly intoxicated. The driver was subsequently arrested for DUI.
- Police responded to a vehicle accident on Martin Street and found that the driver was allegedly under the influence. The male was subsequently arrested for DUI.
- Police received a report of someone on West Side setting off fireworks.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a mange bear in the High Level Road area. The state Game Commission responded and handled the incident.
- Police received a report about suspicious activity along Daisy Street Extension.
- Police received a report about the alleged theft of a vase from a grave marker at the Crown Crest Cemetery.
- Police received a report about drug paraphernalia that was found along the roadway.
- Police received a report about an automated fire alarm. However, police were cancelled while en route to the scene.
- Police received a report about a vehicle being damaged at the parking lot at Wal-Mart. Upon arrival police determined it was caused by a person and not another vehicle.
- Clearfield Borough police were assisted with an incident along South Fifth Street.
- Police assisted Clearfield Borough police with a medical emergency along South Sixth Street.
- Police received a report about a possible theft on Turnpike Avenue.
- Police received a report about suspicious activity along Industrial Park Road.

- Police assisted Clearfield Borough police at the scene of an alleged burglary at a local business.
Decatur Township
- Police received a complaint from a cemetery caretaker regarding animals. As a result, police are asking residents to clean up after their animals.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment that occurred at Sheetz. However, police determined it had occurred outside of their jurisdiction and referred the incident to state police.
- Police responded to an area residence where items were possibly stolen from a shed. Items taken from the shed included hand-painted lion sculptures. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
- Police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred on Six Mile Road. During the incident, someone allegedly shot and damaged a window at a residence.
- Police observed a male who had multiple warrants for Domestic Relations and the state police on Stumptown Road. He was taken into custody and transported to the county jail.
- Police responded to a 911 hang-up call on Richner Road. Upon arrival police didn’t observe anything wrong and found there was a problem with the resident’s phone.
- Police received a report from a resident who stated that his wife was receiving harassing phone calls. It remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police assisted a male with a disabled vehicle on Irwin Road until a relative arrived to tow it from the scene.
DuBois City
- On May 27 police were called to a residence in the 400 block of Pifer Street for a report about a found toddler. A 2-year-old boy was able to get out of a backyard fence enclosure and wandered into a woman’s yard. The toddler’s father who was nearby working on a mower immediately recognized his son was missing. The toddler was reunited with his father prior to police arrival.
- Police were called to a business in the 600 block of Liberty Boulevard for a man who was causing a disturbance May 27. Employees advised that a woman who was a customer used the restroom. Another woman entered the restroom; however, the first woman’s husband believed she was a man, they told police. He became upset by this and yelled at the woman and them. He also refused to leave when employees asked him to. Officers escorted the man from the business without incident.
- Someone entered a vehicle in the parking lot of a business located in the 100 block of North Main Street on May 27. There were allegedly items taken from the vehicle; the theft was recorded by video surveillance. Police are continuing their investigation of the incident at this time.
- A Ford key was located at the intersection of West Long Avenue and Brady Street May 27. A pedestrian located the key and turned it into police.
- A 53-year-old DuBois man was arrested for public drunkenness May 27 after a caller had advised he was bothering them and not making any sense due to his level of intoxication. Officers found the man at the intersection of West Long Avenue and South Jared Street. He was allegedly found to be highly intoxicated; he was arrested and left with a sober friend.
- A city officer stopped a vehicle, a 1992 Chevrolet S-10, for traffic violations May 28. During the traffic stop, the officer determined the operator, a 21-year-old DuBois man, was allegedly under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested for DUI and taken to Penn Highlands for a blood draw. Charges are pending the results of toxicology testing, police said.
- Officers were called for a report about a domestic disturbance May 28 at a residence in the 300 block of Olive Avenue. A woman was there to collect some of her items, and her husband who was highly intoxicated was allegedly causing a disturbance. Upon arrival officers found the husband had passed out in the yard from his intoxication. He was transported to Penn Highlands for treatment.
- An alarm was activated at the DuBois Diner, located on West DuBois Avenue, May 28. Officers found the building to be secured; no key holder arrived while officers were there.
- A domestic disturbance occurred in the first block of West Scribner Avenue. It involved a man and his girlfriend, and they were both found to be intoxicated. Officers were able to calm everyone down, and both were advised to leave each other alone for the rest of the night.
