The gloves are off in Texas.
Despite a well-received debate performance on Thursday night and a Friday spent battling it out with Donald Trump, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio’s odds at the Republican nomination have decreased after New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s unexpected endorsement of Trump.
According to the CNN Political Prediction Market, Rubio’s odds of winning the republican nomination were at 31% the morning after the debate, but have since dropped almost 10% to 21%.
The Political Prediction Market is a game sponsored by the company Pivit, which uses polls, player input and other factors to predict where the election will go. The markets change depending on the public’s input on candidates’ chances of winning or losing an election. It should not be confused as a survey from real voters.
Trump, on the other hand, saw a jump in his odds of snatching the nomination. After Christie’s endorsement, Trump’s odds went from 67% to 74%.
In third place to win the Republican nomination is Sen. Ted Cruz at 2%, followed by Ohio Gov. John Kasich at 1% and Ben Carson at 0%.
