Gene A. Peters, 47, of Osceola Mills died Monday, Feb. 22, 2016 at his home.

Born Oct. 11, 1968 in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late Glenn and Margaret (Alexander) Peters.

He married Darlene J. (Cowfer) Peters on Aug. 16, 2007 in Winburne. She survives at home.

Mr. Peters was of the Christian faith.  He worked at Lee Metals in Philipsburg and was a graduate of the Moshannon Valley High School.  He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald and Roy Peters.

Including his wife, he is survived by two sons, Brennan Dickinson of Fallentimber and Jacob Estright of Pittsburgh and one daughter, Destiny Estright of Altoona.

He is survived by three sisters, Susan Muhaw of Chickamauga, Ga., Gay Lee Peters of Clearfield and Jolene Derosier of Greenville, NC and four brothers, David Peters and his wife, Judy of Coalport, Donald Peters and his wife, Peggy of Clearfield, Thomas Peters of Sabula and Jay Peters and his wife, Cindy of Lusby, Md.  He is also survived by his precious cat, “Steeler.”

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, with the Rev. Scott Hartsock officiating.  Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday and from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
