Harley Jane Rowles, 18, of Grampian died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015 at UPMC Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born June 4, 1997 in DuBois, she was the daughter of Harry C. Jr. and Barbara J. (Mahlon) Rowles.

She was a student at the Soaring Heights Autism Academy in DuBois. She participated in Special Olympics both for the Clearfield County Chapter and the DuBois-Jefferson Chapter.

She also was a member of the Clearfield Stars Special Needs Cheerleading Squad. She was a junior member of the Grampian American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving are her parents of Grampian; her maternal grandmother, E. Jane Mahlon of Grampian; her paternal grandparents, Harry C. Rowles Sr. and his wife, Linda of Carnwath and Denise M. Bloom of Curwensville; a brother, David Rowles of State College; and her great-grandfather, Boyd E. Coudriet of Florida as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, John T. Mahlon, and her paternal grandfather, James E. Bloom.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville, with the Rev. Todd T. Hogue officiating.  Burial will be in the Greenville Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Grampian.

Friends will be received from 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

The Grampian American Legion Auxiliary will conduct memorial services at 6 p.m. Monday.

Contributions may be made to the family in care of the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc., 300 State St., Curwensville, PA 16833.
