CURWENSVILLE – The Clearfield County Conservation District (CCCD) will host its 11th annual Conservation Celebration on Saturday.
The event will be held at the Curwensville Lake and Recreation Area from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., rain or shine.
There are a variety of hands-on activities like fishing and paddling. Also, there will be live farm animals, amphibians and reptiles and birds of prey.
“Butterfly Rick” will have his butterfly display, and Morris Apiary will have honey bees and hives. There will also be games, crafts and weaving demonstrations.
All activities are free, and kids will receive free hot dogs, popcorn and smoothies. Admission to the lake will be waived that day in exchange for the donation on one non-perishable food item per person for the local food banks.
At the same time, the Friends of Curwensville Lake will host a Civil War Encampment at Curwensville Lake. It will be located down by the beach parking lot and will include a flag retirement.
