The Centre County Democratic Committee has selected Katie Oliver as their recommended candidate for Judge of Court of Common Pleas in Centre County and has submitted her name to be confirmed by a vote of the Executive Committee of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party before her name is submitted to the Pennsylvania Department of State and therefore listed on the November ballot.

“We are very excited to have someone with Katie’s experience and background in the law as our candidate. Katie has always excelled in the law from graduating first in her class at Dickinson School of Law to being recognized by her peers for her thoughtful approach to the law,” stated Greg Stewart, chair

“I am very honored by the Centre County Democratic Committee nomination, by the immediate outpouring of support expressed by family, friends, colleagues, and community members, and by all of the strong votes of confidence.  I am firmly committed to using my twenty years of legal experience to serve the people of Centre County as a judge on its Court of Common Pleas.   I look forward to the campaign, and to the chance to meet more of the Centre County voters in that process,” stated Oliver.

Oliver is an attorney and shareholder in the State College based law firm of McQuaide Blasko Inc.  Her law practice over the last 20 years has involved representing both individual and business clients in a wide variety of matters in state and federal courts throughout Pennsylvania.

Oliver also serves as a pro bono mediator for the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.  She was class valedictorian and graduated summa cum laude from the Dickinson School of Law in 1995.  She received her undergraduate degree from Bucknell University, cum laude, in 1990.

Oliver lives in Ferguson Township with her husband, Chris, and their two daughters, Gwen (17) and Tia (14).  She is active in local and state professional organizations and has served in various leadership roles.

Oliver is also a long-time volunteer and troop leader for the Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania.
