Obituary Notice: Penelope Sue Hugney

Penelope Sue Hugney, 61, of Frenchville died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Born Sept. 15, 1953 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Agnes (Singer) Hanley.

She married Stanley M. Hugney on June 1, 2010 in Frenchville. They were companions for 27 years; he survives at home.

Mrs. Hugney was of the Christian faith.  She was a homemaker and graduated from the former Lock Haven High School.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Loretta Young; a brother, Paul Hanley; and a step-brother, Fred Bechdel.

Along with her husband, Mrs. Hugney is survived by three daughters, Nicole Hanley and her wife, Kristie of Lock Haven, Jackie Williams and her husband, Ken of Frenchville and Lori Knowes and her husband, Steven of Philipsburg.

She is survived by a sister, Elen Bechdel of Beech Creek; three brothers, Gay Hanley and his wife, Dolly and Gerald Hanley and his wife, Vickie, both of Beech Creek, and Ronald Hanley of Orvison; three grandchildren, Earnest “Dewey” Cochran, Ryann Knowles and Taylor Shaffer; and a sister-in-law, Clarissa Hanley.

A private memorial service will be held at a later time.
