District Judge Patrick Ford Presides Over Preliminary Hearings

DUBOIS – District Judge Patrick Ford of DuBois presided over preliminary hearings Aug. 7.

Sufficient evidence was presented to bind charges against the following defendant over to the Clearfield County Court of Common Pleas for further disposition.

  • John Floyd Carey Jr., 33, Rockton, is charged by the DuBois-based state police with assault and harassment. Bail was set at $2,500 unsecured.

The following case was continued.

  • Steven Wade Brown Jr., 25, DuBois, is charged by the DuBois City police with stalking, loitering and prowling at night, and public drunkenness. A hearing is scheduled for Sept. 4.

The following defendants entered guilty pleas.

  • Timothy Daniel Marshall, 29, DuBois, pleaded guilty to possession of a small amount of marijuana. Charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, careless driving and two summary traffic charges were withdrawn. Marshall was ordered to pay $572.50 in fines and costs.
  • Jude Ernest Srock, 39, DuBois, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. Charges of assault, harassment and criminal mischief were withdrawn. Srock was ordered to pay $729.44 in fines and costs and to serve one year on probation.
  • Joseph Michael Sheets, 19, DuBois, pleaded guilty to criminal mischief. Sheets was ordered to pay $1,153 in fines, costs, and restitution and serve six months on probation.

The following defendants waived their rights to a preliminary hearing. Their cases will be sent to the Clearfield County Court of Common Pleas for further disposition.

  • David Michael Kovalchick, 39, DuBois, is charged by the DuBois-based state police with driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, careless driving and three summary traffic charges. Bail was set at $1,000 unsecured.
  • Sherri Ann Reirdon, 26, Mahaffey, is charged by the DuBois-based state police with DUI and failure to use a seatbelt. Charges of driving at unsafe speeds, careless driving, and two summary traffic charges were withdrawn. Bail was set at $1,000 unsecured.
  • Christa Lee Quashnock, 21, DuBois, is charged by the DuBois City police with DUI, careless driving and failure to obey traffic control devices. Bail was set at $1,000 unsecured. In a second case, Quashnock is charged by the DuBois City police with DUI, manufacture/delivery/possession with intent to manufacture/deliver/or possess a small amount of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, careless driving and driving at unsafe speeds. Bail in this case was also set at $1,000 unsecured.
  • Zachary D. Loomis, 24, DuBois, is charged by the DuBois City police with accidents involving damage to attended vehicles or property, and driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked. Charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana and careless driving were withdrawn. Bail was set at $1,000 unsecured.
  • Joseph Anthony Allen Barnwell, 45, DuBois, is charged by the DuBois-based state police with DUI, driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked, driving without a license, careless driving, failure to use a seatbelt, reckless driving, careless driving, and two summary traffic charges. Bail was set at $1,000 unsecured.
  • Tina Marie Stump, 39, DuBois, is charged by the DuBois City police with forgery, access device fraud and theft by unlawful taking. Bail was set at $1,000 monetary. In a second case, Stump is charged by the Sandy Township police with theft by unlawful taking. Bail in this case is set at $10,000 monetary.
