Margaret R. Parks, 94 of Philipsburg, PA and formerly of Ashland died on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Windy Hill Village, P.S.L. in Philipsburg, PA.
Born on March 1, 1921 in Brisbin, PA, she was the daughter of the late Earl & Pauline (Warwick) Truax. She married Herman A. Parks on December 24, 1941 in Brisbin, PA; he preceded her in death on October 31, 1998.
Mrs. Parks was a member of the Ashland Wesleyan Church in RD Osceola Mills, PA. She was a homemaker and a graduate of the former Houtzdale High School.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Marie Smith, Freda Pinto and Irene Archer.
Mrs. Parks is survived by: two daughters, Verda Soltesz & her husband David of State College, PA and Cathy Verbeck & her husband Willard of Hawk Run, PA; a son, Norman A. Parks & his wife Janice of Morrisdale, PA; five grandchildren, Shannon Soltesz, Eren Roan, Wendy Timblin, Holly Bryan and Norman Parks, Jr.; and eight great-grandchildren.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Osceola Mills, PA, with Rev. E. Joseph Rohrbacker and Rev. Arlene A. Rohrbacker officiating. Burial will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Brisbin, PA.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at the funeral home.
