Betty L. Hugg, 90, of Philipsburg and formerly of Sandy Ridge, died Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Windy Hill Village in Philipsburg.
Born Nov. 8, 1924 in Sandy Ridge, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Kennedy) Sharpless.
She married the late Leland E. Hugg in North Carolina; he preceded her in death on Dec. 16, 1977.
Mrs. Hugg was a member of the United Methodist faith. She was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Peggy Joan Hugg; a grandson, Michael Lee Tomco; two sisters, Dolores Podliski and Mary Lou Goss; and two brothers, Robert and Fred Sharpless.
Mrs. Hugg is survived by a daughter, Darlene Tomco and her husband, Michael of West Decatur; two grandchildren, Michelle Lezzer of West Decatur and Mark D. Tomco and his wife, Emilee of York; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Osceola Mills, with Pastor Tina M. Hawkins officiating. Â Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
