Charles “Martin” Haag Sr., 77, of Grampian died Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
Born June 7, 1938 in DuBois, he was the son of the late Seymour J. Haag and Susie C. (Swartzlander) Haag.
On June 8, 1957, he married Rosena (Schaffer) Haag. She preceded him in death on March 20, 2014.
He retired as a heavy equipment operator for the Ruskin Dressler Coal Company. Prior to that, he worked for the Benjamin Coal Company for many years.
He was a member of the St. Bonaventure Roman Catholic Church in Grampian. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by five children, Mona Crosby and her husband, Ed of Brockway; Chuck Haag and his wife, Michele and Lori Seger and her husband, Scott, both of Grampian; Gary Haag and his wife, Carla of Luthersburg; and Penny Titler of Brockport.
He is also survived by two sisters, Lorena Jones of Copper Cove, Texas and Cathy Dilts of Grampian; five brothers, John Haag and his wife, Joann of Sharon, Joseph Haag and his wife, Linda of Troutville, James Haag and Albert Haag, both of Grampian and Andrew Haag and his wife, Karen of Luthersburg; 16 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Bonaventure Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Mark Mastrian as celebrant.
Burial will follow in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
Memorials may be placed with the charity of the donor’s choice.
