Obituary Notice: Max E. Hawkins

Max E. Hawkins, 75, of Coalport died Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at his residence.

She was born April 7, 1939 at Philipsburg, a son of the late Paul E. and Ada (Jarrett) Hawkins.
He was a 1957 graduate of the Madera High School and served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Army Reserve.

He retired as a heavy equipment operator after he worked in stripe mining and later for Edward C. Levy Corp. of Detroit, Mich.

Mr. Hawkins enjoyed hunting, fishing and four wheeling.  He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Michigan Fly Fishing Club.

He’s survived by four children, Roger Hawkins (Luz) of El Paso, Texas; Jeffery Hawkins and Kimberly Jenkins, both of Vinton, Va.; and Eugene Paul Hawkins (Janice) of Curwensville.

He is survived by his grandchildren, Eric, Jonathan, Margo, Corey, Brittany, Chrissie, Aaron, Jessica, Tiffany, Valerie, Stephen and Stephanie and his great-grandchildren, Carter, Ethan and Logan.

He is also survived by a brother, Robert L.  Hawkins (Kathleen) of Smithmill and their son, Brian (Alex) Hawkins.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Hawkins was preceded in death by a daughter, Leigha Davis; a grandson, Joseph Hawkins; and a brother, Walter P. Hawkins.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. Saturday at the Kruise Funeral Home Inc., Madera.
A time for sharing will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Kruise Funeral Home Inc., Madera.

Burial will follow in the Fruit Hill Cemetery, Ansonville.
