DUBOIS – A Gallitzin man will stand trial for stabbing another man.

Damien Mitchell Lee, 20, 331 Forest St., Gallitzin, who is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and terroristic threats, waived his right to a preliminary hearing during Centralized Court. He remains in the Clearfield County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.

These charges stem from an incident in Sandy Township on June 20 when Lee allegedly stabbed a man.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, police were called to the Penn Highlands DuBois to speak to the victim and investigate the incident.

The victim told police that he was visiting at a Bolam Road residence, where he became involved in a verbal altercation with Lee. He said he was familiar with Lee, who was also visiting at the home.

The victim said he thought Lee had given a drug to his girlfriend and was upset. He confronted Lee asking him what he was doing giving drugs to the female. Lee became upset, stood up and asked what he had said. The victim replied “you heard me.” Lee then swore and threatened to cut his throat.

Lee immediately reached into his back pack and pulled out a knife or other sharp object. Lee came toward the victim in an aggressive manner with the object in his hand and making slashing motions toward him.

The victim said he tried to back up to get away from Lee, but he continued to come at him. The victim then felt a sharp stab in his upper left arm. Once he realized he was stabbed, he ran out of the home and to his car.

Another witness confirmed the story. The victim suffered a two-centimeter wide and two-centimeter deep stab wound.
