CLEARFIELD – EQT Corp. of DuBois has given a donation of $1,500 to the Clearfield County Charitable Foundation for their Marcellus Shale Fund, which supports vocational education, the environment and emergency services in the area.

Josie L. Schultz, community advisor for EQT, said the money comes from the company’s Local Giving Fund, which helps support community projects.  EQT is a founding member of the Marcellus Shale Fund and Kevin McMillen, chairman of the CCCF thanked EQT for their generosity.

“It’s nice to see a company coming into the area and enhancing the community, not only with jobs but [also] with contributions like this,” McMillen said.

EQT Corp. has developed smarter and cleaner drilling technologies, enabling them to grow into the country’s largest natural gas producers. Operating in five states, it’s a technology-driven leader in the integration of air and horizontal drilling, according to its Web site.

“We are committed to meeting the country’s growing demand for clean energy, while continuing to promote safety, provide a rewarding workplace, and enrich the communities where our employees live and work. EQT stands out from the pack with its vision, innovation, sound business practices, and environmental conscientiousness.”

Established in 2004, the CCCF is one of more than 300 community foundations in the United States, and its purpose is to enhance the quality of life in Clearfield County through the support of services that promote health, education, social welfare, public and urban affairs, arts and culture, conservation and the environment.

The foundation accomplishes this by stimulating the establishment of endowments to serve local communities now and in the future, and by awarding grants to local charitable organizations.

The CCCF welcomes inquiries from potential donors or those interested in establishing funds to benefit local communities and organizations. Additional information regarding the Foundation is available at the foundation’s Web site www.Clearfieldcharitablefoundation.org) or by calling 814-592-7331.

Contributions to the Marcellus Shale Fund or any of the foundation’s funds may be made at the Web site or be mailed to: P.O. Box 1442, Clearfield, PA 16830.
