H. Richard Strickland,   85, of Curwensville died at his home. He was born July 4, 1928 in Clearfield, a son of the late Harold Richard and Jean (Roesser) Strickland.

Mr. Strickland retired from South Side Garage. He was a member of the Curwensville United Methodist Church.

He is survived by four children, Victoria S. Howell of Rochester, NY, Kathy Jean Michaels and her husband, Lou of The Villages, Fla., and Cynthia S. Morgan and her husband, Maynard Scott and Richard Strickland and his wife Michelle, both of Curwensville.

He’s also survived by five grandchildren, Wendy K. Howell of Rochester, NY, Stuart R. Michaels of The Villages, Fla., Daniel Scott Morgan of Johnstown and Savannah Strickland and Ciara Strickland, both of Curwensville; a brother, Robert A. Strickland of Curwensville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen (Sample) Strickland on May 6, 2010; a son-in-law, William R. ‘Butch’ Howell; and a sister, Betty Jean Corbin.

At the request of Mr. Strickland, private services will be held at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.

The Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville, is in charge of the arrangements.
