DUBOIS – During March and April, two new workshops were held at DuBois Business College (DBC), as part of its workshop program for community involvement.

A digital photography workshop, instructed by Ryan Haggerty, a John Russo Movie Making instructor at DBC, led a workshop in digital cameras and digital imaging. Topics covered included megapixels, storage media, resolution, types of files, etc.

Picasa software was used to manipulate photos, and the students were given an opportunity to fix scratched photos, lighten dark photos, resize and crop photos for printing.

Haggerty also demonstrated the use of Adoramapix.com and Flickr.

Andy Park, a local electrical engineer/IT engineer, headed a new tablet/iPad workshop. He showed the class tips on proper usage and caring for their tablet.

Other topics taught included organizing apps with folders, rebooting your tablet, troubleshooting tips, gaming tips, Skype, FaceTime, emailing and searching the web.

Upcoming workshops for the summer/fall terms include PowerPoint, Windows 8, Microsoft Word, Beginners Excel, QuickBooks (schedule for July), and Basics/Beginners.

Class size is limited and DBC provides the computers for each student. Workshops are available to businesses and individuals of all ages.

You can obtain more information and register for any of these workshops by calling Debbie (Rhed) Shannon at 814-375-0142 or DBC at 814-371-6920.

Check the DBC out online at www.dbcollege.com  or on the DBC Facebook page for up-to-date news and workshops.
