CLEARFIELD – Kyle G. Kunes, commercial banking associate at CNB Bank, was recently recognized by the Pennsylvania Bankers Association (PBA) School of Banking for achieving honor student status.

Selected on the basis of outstanding work performed during school and on a post-test examination, Kunes was recognized at the PBA Group 6 meeting held on April 9, at the Calvin House in Duncansville.

Kunes has been with CNB Bank since 2012, when he began as a management trainee. He graduated from DuBois Area High School in 2008 and received a Bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing from Penn State in 2012.

A native of Reynoldsville, Kunes presently lives in Clearfield with his wife, Andrea, where he volunteers as a Junior Achievement instructor. He also participates in CNB Bank’s financial literacy initiative for students by conducting classes at several local high schools.

“We are proud of Kyle for the outstanding work he exhibited while at the PBA school,” said Joe Bower Jr., president and chief executive officer of CNB Bank. “He is a great asset to CNB Bank, and I am confident he will use what he learned to better serve our customers.”

The PBA School of Banking provides students with a broad base of knowledge of the financial services industry, which can be applied in a practical manner. Topics taught at this school cover the banking system, understanding bank financial statements, marketing to customers, compliance, lending, motivation and supervision.

The PBA, located in Harrisburg, is the state’s leading banking trade association representing an expansive and diverse membership. The association offers extensive continuing education programs, government relation’s representation on behalf of the industry, and provides numerous products and services for banks and their employees.
