KYLERTOWN – Dr. Matt Mitchell has been the pastor of the Lanse Evangelical Free Church in Lanse since 1998.  He is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and Westminster Theological Seminary.

He lives in Lanse with his wife, Heather, and four kids, Robin, Andrew, Peter and Isaac. He writes a regular blog about the Bible and life called, “Hot Orthodoxy,” at matt-mitchell.blogspot.com and is the author of the new book Resisting Gossip: Winning the War of the Wagging Tongue (CLC Publications).

The idea for the book took root five years ago while Mitchell was attending seminary school and was published Sept. 3.  Mitchell will be at the Kylertown Center for Active Living at 11 a.m. Friday to talk about the perils and wickedness of gossiping.

There are no reservations needed for the program.  However, those interested in having lunch afterward at the center are asked to call at least one day prior to the event to make a meal reservation.  Any Clearfield County individual who is 60 years of age or older may contribute to the cost of the meal on a donation basis.  The cost to those under age 60 is $3.50.

The center is located at the Kylertown Center for Active Living at 70 Senior Dr., Kylertown. Information on this and other programs, meals, and activities is available by calling the Kylertown Center at 814-345-6338 or 1-800-225-8571 or visiting the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging Web site at www.ccaaa.net.

Programs and services of the agency are funded in part by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging, the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging Inc., Mature Resources Foundation and local and consumer contributions.
