CLEARFIELD – High-quality crowd pleasers and father/daughter duo Chris and Megan McGarry of Curwensville will perform during the Corner Concert Series on Friday at Shaw Park. The concert is from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.

The duo is currently recording an album and has traveled around the region for years playing bluegrass, country, gospel or anything that involves a banjo, mandolin, guitar and fiddle.

“Megan is a recent state champion fiddle player, and you don’t want to miss this event. The weather looks great, so bring a chair because it’s sure to be another standing room only show,” said Steve Albert, manager of the Market Street Gallery, which sponsors the weekly concert series.

The Corner Concert Series was born out of a desire to help the “Save the Ritz” campaign. Funds are raised during the concerts from donations, T-shirt and wristband sales, as well as concession sales at the Ritz.

Movie theaters across the country must upgrade to digital projectors by the end of the year, and this is just one way the Clearfield community has come together to help an area landmark, said Albert.
