County to Consider Polling Precinct Changes

local-newsCLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County Commissioners are considering the relocation of two Clearfield Borough polling precincts to the Expo I Building at the Clearfield Driving Park.

At Tuesday’s meeting, Dawn Graham, director of elections, said the county’s Election Office has received requests to relocate the precincts for the First and Third wards in Clearfield Borough. These precincts have been located at the Clearfield Borough Fire Department on Cherry Street and the former Third Ward Hose House on Martin Street.

If approved, Graham said there would be more than enough room at the Expo I Building, which also provides plenty of parking and is handicap accessible. She said although located within the same building, the precincts would remain separate with their own Election boards, ballots and equipment.

Anyone with questions or comments is asked to please contact Graham in writing at 212 E. Locust St., Suite 106, Clearfield, PA 16830. Comments may also be submitted via e-mail at elections@clearfieldco.org. The deadline for comments is 4 p.m. Aug. 26.

The commissioners plan to address the matter at its regular meeting Aug. 27, so that the change, if approved, could be effective for the Nov. 5 Municipal Election.
