John E. Passmore, 74, of Wadsworth, Ohio died Aug. 3, 2013 at Medina Hospital in Ohio. He was born Jan. 10, 1939 in Clearfield, the son of Cecil and Cecelia (Ross) Passmore.
Mr. Passmore was a graduate of the Clearfield Area High School.
He was a veteran with the U.S. Marines Corps and served for three years. He then moved to Ohio and worked as a welder and then for the U.S. Postal Service as a mailman.
Mr. Passmore belonged to the Sharon United Methodist Church, Sharon Center, Ohio, the Medina Car Cruisers and the Media Eagles #2224. He loved his old cars and his cat as much as his family.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gloria Ann (Turner) Passmore; three children, John Passmore Jr., Teresa Griffiths and her husband, Robert and Doug Passmore and his wife, DeAnna; six grandchildren, Katie Marie and Sandra Easterling, Megan Passmore, Andrew Passmore and Vicki and Shannon Myers and his aunt, Lois Wennin.
Mr. Passmore was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Joanne Passmore, Barbara Yeager and Marlene Taylor; and a brother, Larry K. Passmore.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc., Clearfield, with Pastor Kathy Leigey officiating. Burial will be in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.
Friends will be received 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Friday at the funeral home.
Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the Clearfield American Legion Post #6 and the VFW Post #1785 Honor Guard.
