PHILIPSBURG – Work to replace a bridge on Route 3034 (Loch Lomond Road) in Rush Township is continuing, with a change to the traffic pattern starting today.
Today, traffic will move to a temporary one lane roadway and traffic will be controlled by flaggers until temporary traffic signals are activated later that day. The temporary signals will enforce a long-tern, alternating traffic pattern.
On Aug. 9 the new box culvert will be set in place causing short electric outages throughout the day. PennDOT is coordinating these outages with Penelec. The bridge spans One Mile Run on Route 3034, less than a mile northeast of Philipsburg Borough.
Replacing the bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from the list of structurally deficient bridges in Centre County and provide area drivers with safer, more efficient travel across a modern structure.
Work is scheduled to last until early September. BECDIR Construction Company of Berlin Center, Ohio is the contractor on this $870,000 project. All work is weather and schedule dependent. Drivers are reminded to use caution through all construction zones, obey posted speed limits and always buckle up.
