Centers for Active Living Offer Escape from Heat

Local weather forecasters say Clearfield County is facing a week or more of 90-plus degree temperatures.  That can be a real challenge if you live in an apartment or older home with no air conditioning.

To stay cool, mature residents of the county should feel free to go to any Center for Active Living (senior community center). You can spend all or part of the day in air conditioned comfort.  You’ll find food, fluids, friends and fun there.

If you prefer quiet, bring a book and read through a couple of chapters.  Work on a computer or bring your cell phone and catch up on phone calls.  You can reminisce with other visitors.

You can make the center your cool haven for the week.  You can get more information on coping with heat-related problems while you are there.

For more information on our Centers for Active Living, call 814-765-2696.

Programs and services of the agency are funded in part by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging, the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging Inc., Mature Resources Foundation and local and consumer contributions
