CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County Planning & Community Development Office has announced it will be conducting an Income Survey for the Municipal Sewer Authority of Houtzdale Borough, beginning the first week of February.

Survey forms will be mailed to residents in the authority’s customer service area to determine if the sewer project is eligible to receive Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding.

According to Lisa Kovalick, Clearfield County Community Development Specialist, the authority is trying to identify funding options that will assist in paying for repair and replacement of the authority’s main interceptor to the sewage treatment plant.  Grant funding will ease the cost burden for customers.  One of the funding sources is a competitive CDBG grant through the Commonwealth’s Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED).

In order to apply for these funds, the authority is required to conduct an Income Survey to determine grant eligibility.  The income survey is confidential, conducted through the Clearfield County Planning and Community Development Office.  Individuals who receive a survey should complete it and return it promptly.

If there are any questions, please contact Lisa Kovalick at 814-765-5149.
