TYRONE — Aided by five forfeits the Clearfield Bison beat the Tyrone Eagles 41-24 on Thursday night to up their record to 6-7 on the season. With the loss, Tyrone dropped to 3-17.
The Bison only picked up two wins on the mat – a tech fall by Dylan Graham and a fall by Christian Stone. The Eagles picked up five wins to outscore Clearfield 24-11 in contested matches.
The Bison will next be in action when they enter the District IX Team Wrestling Championships on Saturday at DuBois High School. Clearfield will have a rematch with the St. Marys Flying Dutch at 12:30 pm. Clearfield beat the Dutch 38-33 earlier this week at the Arthur J. Weiss Gymnasium. The winner will face DuBois for the District 9 team crown.
