Albert Eugene Legrand, 66, of Houtzdale died Monday, Jan. 28, 2013 at his residence. Born July 28, 1946, he was the son of the late Peter and Clemence (Castiaux) Legrand.
Mr. Legrand was a member of the Brisbin Baptist Church.
He was a self-employed welder and a member of the Osceola Mills Loyal Order of Moose.
He’s survived by his wife, Lois (Fleegle) Legrand of Houtzdale and two sons, Allen Legrand and his wife, Shelly of Coalport and Peter J. Legrand of Houtzdale. Surviving are three grandchildren, Jonathan, Brooke and Jacob Legrand of Coalport.
Also surviving are a brother, Donald Legrand and his wife, Elaine of New Jersey; two sisters, Josephine Stiles and her husband, Terry and Julia Thomas and her husband, Gene, all of Houtzdale; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Legrand was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert.
A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Melhorn officiating.
Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brisbin.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. until the hour of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
