Obituary Notice: Ramona M. Selfridge

Ramona M. Selfridge, 84, of State College, and formerly of Philipsburg, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2013 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College.

She was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Tekely) Slother born Oct. 13, 1928 in Philipsburg.  She married Raymond L. Selfridge on June 10, 1949 in Philipsburg.  He preceded her in death on March, 19, 2004.

Mrs. Selfridge was member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in State College.

Initially she worked at the General Cigar plant in Philipsburg.  After moving to State College, she was employed at Park West Manor and worked as a photo correction consultant with Josten Publishing Co. of State College.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard Selfridge; two sisters, Margaret Kundla and Katherine “Kay” Dipko; and three brothers, Charles, Frank and Alex Slother.

Mrs. Selfridge is survived by a daughter, Bonnie J. Mayhew and her husband, Gary of Bellefonte; two sons, Timothy Selfridge of Virginia and Michael Selfridge of Tennessee; a brother, William Slother of Philipsburg; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Philipsburg, with the Rev. Joseph Staszewski, celebrant.  Burial will be at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Philipsburg.

The family will receive friends from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home in Philipsburg.
