Obituary Notice: Gary E. “Monk” Domanick

Gary E. “Monk” Domanick, 64, of Winburne died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center – Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Born March 15, 1948 in West Decatur, he was the son of Clifford P. Quick Sr. of Chester Hill and the late Ruth A. (Domanick) Quick.

He’s survived by a son, Jay Garito of West Virginia; a step-daughter, Crystal Simmons of State College; a granddaughter, Johanna Briggs; a brother, Clifford P. Quick Jr. of Philipsburg; and three sisters, Shirl A. Hall of Philipsburg, Susan J. Martin of Houtzdale and Penny L. Hood of Janesville.

He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents, George T. and Gladys (Archer) Domanick.

He was a 1966 graduate of Philipsburg-Osceola High School.

He worked in construction and retired from Laborer’s International Union of America #824.

He was a member of Sinnamahoning Sportsmen’s Club, Wykoff Run Fish Nursery, Trout Unlimited, Potter County Angler’s Club and the NRA. He enjoyed fly fishing and hunting.

Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Thursday at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, 228 N. Centre St., Philipsburg.
