General McLane Claims Clearfield Bison Duals Championship

HYDE — The General McLane Lancers (11-0) waltzed into the Arthur J. Weiss Gymnasium as the undefeated favorites to win the 5th Annual Clearfield Bison Duals and they did not disappoint as they swept through five matches to win the title, capping the long day off with a 37-24 victory over the West Branch Warriors (19-2).

The host Clearfield Bison squad opened with a 53-19 win over Valley, then lost their last three matches in pool play to finish fourth in Pool B. They then beat Sharpsville 50-27 to claim seventh place in the 10-team tourney. Bisons Logan Gilbert, Dylan Graham, Christian Stone, and Nolan Barger went a perfect 5-0 on the day. Stone remains undefeated on the season at 18-0.

The Curwensville Golden Tide was swept in its four Pool A matches, but beat Valley 39-34 to claim ninth place.

Clearfield (4-6) returns to dual meet action on Tuesday when they travel to Bellefonte to face the Red Raiders. The Tide (6-9) will be back on the mat when they host the state-ranked Brookville Raiders on Thursday night at Patton Hall.
