CLEARFIELD – Three people involved in a series of burglaries in Clearfield County were in court this week.

The burglaries occurred between Dec. 13 and Jan. 6 in Houtzdale and Coalport boroughs and Chest and Beccaria townships. The investigation began after police received an anonymous phone call, stating that Daniel Dillen, Bruce Lansberry and Jamie McClellan had been stealing things from the Coalport area.

Dillen and four others allegedly broke into several area businesses, a camp, and the Glendale Sportsmen’s Club. They removed more than $11,000 worth of items from the various locations, according to press release from District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr.

Jamie Lynn McClellan, 32, an inmate of the jail, pleaded guilty to theft by unlawful taking, criminal conspiracy, and burglary for her involvement in six different incidents. She was sentenced to a total of one to two years in state prison. She was fined $20 plus costs and must pay restitution of more than $3,900. She had been scheduled to be sentenced in September, but she failed to appear in court.

Dillen, 25, 1076 Glendale Valley Blvd., Fallentimber, an inmate of the jail, is charged with burglary, criminal trespass, criminal conspiracy and related charges in seven cases.

In motions court, Dillen’s attorney asked for him to receive a psychiatric evaluation. This motion was granted. Arrangements will be made for him to be transferred to the Warren State Hospital.

Kevin Matthew McGary, 24, 334 Main St., Greenville, an inmate of the jail, is charged with burglary, criminal trespass, criminal conspiracy, theft and receiving stolen property in two of these cases. His attorney asked that a bench warrant issued when he failed to appear at his preliminary hearing be lifted and his bail be reduced. This motion was granted, with his bail being set at $10,000, straight in each case. A separate motion from the commonwealth to dismiss his notice of alibi because it was filed untimely, was taken under advisement by Clearfield County President Judge Fredric J. Ammerman.

Lansberry, 27, 120 Rodeo Pike, Glasgow, an inmate of the jail, is charged with burglary, criminal conspiracy, criminal trespass, theft and receiving stolen property in three cases and with theft, criminal conspiracy and receiving stolen property in a fourth case. In August, a petition for him to receive a psychiatric evaluation was granted and he was sent to Torrance State Hospital.

In September, another co-defendant, Richard Aaron Breeden, 19, PO Box 468, Coalport, pleaded guilty to burglary and theft in three cases. Breeden was sentenced to 60 days to one year in jail and four years consecutive probation.
