RIDGWAY – No injuries were reported following a single-vehicle accident at 11 p.m. Tuesday on Montmorenci Road in Ridgway Township, the Ridgway-based state police reported this morning.
Michael C. Niklas, 27, of Kane was traveling southbound and negotiating a right-hand curve in the roadway. He lost control of his vehicle due to traveling at an excessive speed on a wet roadway.
The Niklas vehicle spun sideways before exiting the roadway on the west berm. There, it impacted a tree and came to a rest, facing north.
Nicklas was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident. He was cited for failing to drive his vehicle at a safe speed.
