UNIVERSITY PARK – The Board of Trustees web site has a new design that puts key information at the fingertips of those who visit.

“This is just the first iteration,” said Karen Peetz, chair of the board. “We’ll have more changes soon as we work to make the information on the site even easier to find and read. This is, of course, a continuation of the board’s pledge for openness and for providing more and better information to the Penn State community and beyond. It’s an ongoing process.”

The site, found online, includes information about the trustees’ responsibilities, upcoming meetings, minutes and agendas, and recent news. The site also includes links to information about University governance; the charter, bylaws and standing orders; membership; staff; and history.

Outlined on the site is the new structure of the board consisting of five standing committees, which were created to align more closely with University operations. The new committees improve the accessibility of board members for a variety of constituent groups.

“Explaining the role of the board, its authority and its responsibilities is information that a lot of Penn Staters have sought in recent months,” Peetz said.

“They can find that information here. They can also contact the board or go back through minutes to look for a particular topic of interest. We certainly hope alumni and the entire Penn State community will use the site to stay abreast of important issues and to watch the progress being made by the University.”
