DUBOIS – At its Monday night meeting, the City Council of DuBois approved sending the City of DuBois’ application for the 2012 Community Development Block Grant program.  The City Council also stated two goals for the CDBG monies would be that 5%, or $12,300, and 3%, or $7,380, of non-administrative funds would be targeted towards Minority Business Enterprise and Women Business Enterprise respectively.

The council approved Mayor Gary Gilbert to sign on behalf of the city and enter the city into a $110,000 grant agreement with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  The agreement is pertaining to the DCED Keystone Communities’ Main Street Grant program.

The city issued several reminders.  New dumpster hours will begin on May 2.  They will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  The 9th Annual Community Spring Clean-Up will run from 9 a.m. till noon on May 5.  Fire companies will hose off the sidewalks in the evening of May 4.  Anti-skid must be removed by May 15.

The City Council and City Solicitor entered an executive session after the meeting to go over legal research over a land issue.
