HERSHEY – Football broadcasters for radio stations WCPA-AM and WQYX-FM received statewide recognition for their work at the recent Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters meeting in Hershey. The Clearfield Bisons football broadcasts received the 2011 PAB Excellence in Broadcasting Award for Outstanding Radio Coverage of a local sporting event.

First Media Radio District Manager Mike McGough and FMR-Clearfield County General Manager Moose Rosana were on hand to accept the award during an awards ceremony at the Hotel Hershey May 2.

Recognized for their outstanding work in the Bison broadcasts are play-by-play man Pat Pallo, color analyst Fred Redden, producer Adam Curry, and statistician Andy Brickley.

FMR-Clearfield County News/Sports Director Drew Gordon says that its a team effort. “Pat and Fred know the players, the coaches and the community very well, and thats what shines through in the broadcasts.”

Gordon said, “Combine that with Adam’s hard work in-studio, and Andy’s “Brick-Stats” updates, you have a complete package worthy of recognition.”

The Bison broadcast crew will return to the booth early, as they broadcast the Lezzer Lumber Classic at Bald Eagle Area High School on Friday, June 24th on 93.1 WQYX-FM, and online at
