CLEARFIELD – A Turbotville woman accused of providing a controlled substance to an inmate at SCI-Houtzdale waived her right to a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.

Lou Ann Miller is charged with controlled substance contraband to confined persons prohibited.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, police were called to investigate an incident at SCI Houtzdale. It is alleged the Miller possessed a controlled substance and entered the state prison. Once inside, she reportedly placed the controlled substance in a donut and placed the donut on a table for the inmate she was waiting to see. The inmate arrived and ate the donut.

Miller was interviewed by police on April 3. She was Mirandized and admitted to having the substance in her pants pocket. She said she then placed it in the donut.

Two guards on duty were also questioned. They told police that they observed Miller place a pill in the donut and that the inmate then ate the donut.
