CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced the capture of a wanted fugitive.
Shaw identified the Fugitive as Melissa M. Palmer, age 30, of Chapman Trailer Court, Dubois, Pennsylvania.
Palmer was added to the Clearfield County Fugitive of the Week list on Nov. 15, 2010.
Shaw stated that Palmer is wanted for failure to appear at sentencing court and motions court on Nov. 9, 2010.
On March 16, 2010, Officer Brian Lockwood of the Dubois City Police Department, filed a criminal complaint charging Palmer with: 1) access device fraud, M1; and 2) receiving stolen property, M2.
An affidavit of probable cause filed by Lockwood states that on Sept. 28, 2009, the Dubois City Police received a report that Palmer had left a DuBois City business without paying for services. An employee of the business reported that Palmer and a known male presented a debit card in order to secure services. The employee later discovered the debit card had been cancelled. Palmer and the male individual left the business without paying for the services received.
A preliminary Hearing was held on April 23, 2010Â at which time the charges were held for court, and Palmer was released on bail upon condition that Palmer commit no further crime.
On Oct. 11, 2010 the District Attorney’s Office filed a Motion for revocation of Palmer’s bail as a result of new a criminal complaint being filed against Palmer. The criminal complaint was filed on Sept. 1 by Officer Joshua Johnston of the Sandy Township Police Department, and charged Palmer with: 1) theft of services, M2; 2) criminal conspiracy to commit theft of services, M2; 3) retail theft, M2; 4) criminal conspiracy to commit retail theft, M2; and 5) public drunkenness, S.
On Nov. 9, 2010 Palmer failed to appear for sentencing court and motions court and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
