CLARION – The Clarion University Career Services Center has joined forces with 21 western Pennsylvania colleges and universities and the Pittsburgh Technology Council to create the Math and Sciences Recruiting Consortium.

The consortium has combined efforts and resources to offer the first Math and Sciences Interview Day. This event offers students and alumni the opportunity to apply for and interview with employers offering full-time jobs or internship positions, in one location on one day.

Targeted majors include: biology, chemistry, engineering, physics, environmental studies, computer science/information technology, history, journalism, communication, finance, administrative sciences, business, math, marketing, political science and more.

To be considered for an interview with a prospective employer, students/alumni must submit the candidate registration form and a resume electronically in the format requested to the Clarion University Career Services Center by 4 p.m. Jan. 26. The registration form, application instructions and detailed position descriptions are listed online.

This event is free to students and alumni of the participating colleges and universities. It will be held Feb. 18 at the Community College of Allegheny County Boyce Campus in Monroeville. Employers participating in this inaugural event include: CONSOL Energy Inc.; First National Bank of Pennsylvania, Keystone State Park (Department of Conservation and Natural Resources); Penn State Electro-Optics Center, PPG Industries, Inc.; RJ Lee Group; Sierra Club; Thermo Fisher Scientific; and Westmoreland Mechanical Testing & Research, Inc.

Employers who would like to learn more about future consortium events should contact Diana Brush, interim director, Clarion University Career Services Center, at 814-393-2323.
