Obituary Notice: Jerry L. Bennett Sr.

Jerry L. Bennett Sr., 67 of Clearfield, passed away on Nov. 15, 2010 at the Mt. Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on June 24, 1943, he was the son of th elate William H. and Sadie (Rice) Bennett)

He was of Christian faith; served in the US National Guard and was retired from Clearfield Co. Investigators as a security guard.

On June 2, 1962 in Curwensville, he married Barbara (Troy) Bennett, who survives him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Peggy Jo Bennett; sisters Kathleen Lipsey, Betty Bollinger, Freda Bennett and Ella Bennett; brothers James, William “Red”, Carl, Lester and Thomas Roy Bennett and grandson John L. Bennett Jr.

He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews; daughters Joyce Varner and her husband Raymond of Houtzdale and Judy Farley and her companion Forest Morgan of Philipsburg; sons Jerry Bennett Jr. and his wife Dusty of Clearfield, John L. Bennett Sr. and his wife Kelly of Clearfield and Joseph L. Bennett of Clearfield; sisters Martha Miller and her husband Maynard of Marion Center and Elzina Hazel and her husband Charles of Sandy Ridge; brother Thomas R. Bennett and his wife Hilda of Clearfield; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A public memorial service will be held on Nov. 18 at 3 p.m. at The Church That Meets in Ramey and will be officiated by the Rev. Kevin Howard. There will be no viewing.

The Heath Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family care of Heath Funeral Home, PO Box 157, Osceola Mills, PA 16666.
