Obituary Notice: Viola I. Johnston

Viola I. Johnston, age 74, of Curwensville died on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Clearfield Hospital.

She was born on April 28, 1936 in Bloom Township, a daughter of the late Cyrus A. and Lula E. (Leis) Wood.

Mrs. Johnston was employed with Clear Care of Clearfield.

She was Methodist by faith.

She was a member and secretary of the Curwensville Veterans of Foreign Wars Robert Ferguson Post #842 Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by four children, Cheryl Muldoon and husband William of Frederick, MD Kitty Johnston of Tyrone, Sandra Bressler of Curwensville, Dale Johnston and wife Valerie of Curwensville and four grandchildren, Alysia Johnston, Keshia DuFour, Justin Johnston, Geri Bressler; a sister-in-law, Laura Johnston of Brockport, NY; a brother-in-law, Duane Johnston and wife Dorothy of Curwensville and and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Joann Irwin and three brothers, Douglas, Leland and Donald Wood.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Saturday at

11:00 A.M. with Pastor Scott Schultz officiating. Interment will follow in the Wood Cemetery, Grampian.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and on Saturday from 10-11:00 AM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society, 26 S. Second Street, Clearfield or Clearfield Foundation for Health – Hospice, PO Box 992, Clearfield PA 16830.
