Philipsburg Main Street Program Announces Parade Results

PHILILPSBURG – The Philipsburg Main Street Program announces the winners of the Ninth Annual Halloween Parade which was held in on Oct. 30 in downtown Philipsburg.

Medals were awarded for first, second, and third place in each division. Main Street Program volunteers judged the participants based on specific criteria; those with the highest point totals were the winners. Each participant received a treat bag and was able to trick or treat in downtown. The bags and candy were sponsored by numerous local businesses. This year was the highest participation ever, registering over 500 participants.

By category, the awards went to: Age 2 and Under- 1^st– Marlee Butterworth, 2^nd– Lucas Conner, 3^rd– Ava Harchak; Ages 3-5 (Preschool)- 1^st– Zach Lingle, 2^nd– Alexis Plubell, 3^rd– Bailey Patalune; Kindergarten and First Grade- 1^st– David Jackson, 2^nd– Sydney Frank, 3^rd– Primilla Singer; Second and Third Grade- 1^st– Zachary Miller, 2^nd– Shelby Zelensky, 3^rd– Mary Utley; Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Grade- 1^st– Shaley Wagner, 2^nd– Abby Rea, 3^rd– Kameryn Harris; Junior/Senior High- 1^st– Taylor Myers, 2^nd– Douglas Weld, 3^rd– Tyler Kephart; Groups- 1^st– Wizard of Oz (Jessica Rutter), 2^nd– Gangsters, 3^rd– Anglea Baney; Adults- 1^st– Franklin Knepp, 2^nd– Brenda Bock, 3^rd– Jeff Kline.  In the Pumpkin Carving Contest awards went to: 12 and Under 1^st Place- Tanner Kagy, 2^nd Place – Matthew Rowles, 3^rd Place- Sierra Page and 13 and over- 1^st Place- Tiffany Bell/Melissa Rapone, 2^nd– South Hills, 3^rd– Randy Nearhood.
