Asher Stuard Kephart, Sr, 72 of Madera passed away on Oct. 30, 2010 at his residence.
He was born, Aug. 27, 1938 at Philipsburg, a son of the late Jesse and Grace (Engler) Kephart, Sr.
He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Madera MOOSE and a past member of the Madera V.F.W.
Mr. Kephart was a retired truck driver and also worked as a correction officer at the Clearfield County Jail.
On March 25, 1978 in the Betz United Methodist Church, he married Mariel McCarty Kephart, she preceded him in death on March 19, 2000.
Asher is survived by two daughters and a son; Doreen Kephart, of IL, Tracy Kephart and Albert “Mickey” Kephart, Jr of Madera; three step daughters, Mary Twa and her husband Jeff of Grand Haven, MI, Mariel Supenia and her husband Vincent of Houtzdale, Nancy Overway and her husband Skip of Zealand, MI; two step sons, Richard Walczak and his wife Donna of Traverse City, MI; and Thomas Walczak of Souderton, PA.
He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Kephart is also survived by a brother, Albert “Mickey” Kephart, Sr and his wife Diane of Madera.
Along with his parents and wife, Mr. Kephart was preceded in death by a son, Asher S. Kephart, Jr; three sisters, Priscella Cyktich, Lucreatia Caber, and Gloria Rebon; and three brothers, Aaron Kephart, Omer Kephart and Jesse Kephart, Jr.

Memorial Service will be held on Nov. 6 at 11:00 a.m. in the Kruise Funeral Home, Inc., Madera, with Rev. Robert Ford officiating.
