Harriet M. Forbes, 83 of Tyrone and formerly of Philipsburg, passed way on Oct. 28, 2010 at Tyrone Hospital.
Born on Jan. 22, 1927, she was the daughter of the late William R. and Izora (Mabus) Kerfoot).
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Philipsburg and attended the Warriors Mark Methodist Church; she was a charter member of the BPO Elks #1173 Philipsburg Ladies Auxilliary. Harriet enjoyed traveling, especially to the Caribbean. She also loved shopping, crafting and spending time with her family.
She worked briefly as a beautician and was a homemaker.
On Feb. 22, 1947 in Bristol, PA, she wed Edgar G. Forbes. He preceded her in death on Dec. 15, 2001.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by daughters Linda Morrison and her husband Paul Sr. of Tyrone and JoAnn Forbes Johnston and her husband John of Hollidaysburg.
She is also survived by grandchildren Paul Morrison Jr. and his wife Terra, and Ann Morrison, all of Tyrone, Nichole Ortiz and her husband Matt of Denver, CO, Melissa O’Connor and her husband Tim of Johnstown and great-grandchildren Olivia, Anthony and Sierra Morrison, all of Tyrone.
Services will be held on Oct. 31 at 4 p.m. at Chapel at Epworth Manor, 951 Washington Ave., Tyrone with the Revs. Peggy J. Bonsell and Mark Liller officiating. Visitation will be on Oct. 30 from 6-8 p.m. at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce St., Philipsburg and on Sunday at Epworth Manor from 3:30-4 p.m.
