CLARION – “William,” one of the many spirits allegedly haunting Hart Chapel, still commands a large audience. So large, in fact, that the seventh annual Clarion University Ghost Experience program will again take place over three nights. Participants will learn about Clarion’s paranormal activities and more on Oct. 21-23 in the Hart Chapel auditorium at 8 p.m. each evening. Sponsored by Clarion University’s History Club, the event is free and open to the public.
Dr. Todd Pfannestiel, professor of history, advisor to the Clarion University History Club, and Ghost Experience host, reports that the traditional stories will be presented along with newly learned information. In addition to telling the story of Clarion’s most famous spirit, the Hart Chapel ghost, there will be stories related to Founders Hall, Becht Hall, Moore Hall, and Carlson Library, as well as the results from a recent investigation of Egbert Hall.
“If you have attended before, you need to come back again,” said Pfannestiel. “We have tremendous amounts of evidence from previous investigations by Rogue Paranormal and the Pennsylvania Paranormal Society, as well as our own investigations. Everyone will be amazed by the photographic and audio evidence, in particular the voices we have captured on tape.”
Doors will open at 7:45 p.m. and seating in Hart Chapel is on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the 400 seats are filled, the doors will be closed and no one else will be admitted to be in compliance with fire regulations. Thursday, October 21st is being promoted as “College Student Night,” and Saturday, October 23rd, as “Community Night.” However, anyone may attend any of the three showings free of charge.
The 90-minute program typically has turned away crowds. Those attending this year are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item, which will be donated to the Clarion County Food Bank.
The History Club will have a limited number of “Ghost Experience” t-shirts on sale during the event. All proceeds will go to the Clarion University History Club.
