PHILIPSBURG- Officials of the Moshannon Valley Economic Development Partnership announced that they will host a candidates’ forum featuring the candidates for Pennsylvania’s 77th State House District seat. The candidates are Joyce Haas (R) of State College and Scott Conklin (D) of  Philipsburg.

“We are pleased to offer the residents of the Philipsburg area an opportunity to hear the views and goals of the candidates as they work to secure this very important congressional seat,” said Paul Springer, President of the MVEDP board of directors. “This forum also gives the business community an opportunity to network with other business people and to get to know first-hand how the positions of the candidates might affect their businesses in the future,” he said.

The candidates’ forum will be held at 8:00 am, Wednesday, October 20th at Windy Hill Village. A buffet breakfast will be served. There is a cost associated with attending this event, for more information please contact Sharon at the Partnership 814-342-2260 or email sharonf@mvedp.org.

“We are urging the community to come out to this important event,” said Partnership Executive Director, Stan LaFuria. He also added, “There are many issues facing Centre County and the Moshannon Valley region. It is very important that we make our views known to the candidates to better position our community for future support.”
