
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – A two-vehicle accident on Friday left two people with moderate injuries.
According to the state police in DuBois, a 24-year-old Big Run man was traveling west on state Route 1008. Police said he crossed the center line and traveled into oncoming traffic and struck the front end of a vehicle driven by Brian Nolf of DuBois.
The Big Run man’s vehicle slid off the left side of the road and traveled over an embankment where it struck a tree. Nolf’s vehicle slid across the road after impact then struck an embankment.
Police said the Big Run man was not wearing a seat belt and suffered moderate injuries. He was transported to DRMC-West by ambulance. It was determined that he was under the influence of alcohol and was arrested. A passenger in his vehicle fled the scene on foot. His identity is unknown and it is unknown if he was injured.
Nolf and his passenger were both wearing their seat belts. Nolf suffered moderate injuries.
Police were assisted at the Falls Creek Fire Department, DuSan Ambulance and Zimmerman Towing.
